Your Hippie Butler’s Guide to Having a Smoking Hot Movie Night At Home
Movie Night With Your Hippie ButlerBy now, you might be all too familiar with date nights in. You jump into your favorite pair of old pajamas, hop on the couch with your smoker soulmate, and grab a couple of bags of chips while you argue over which show to binge before eventually settling on some home improvement TV show… again. Don’t get us wrong, those nights filled with comfort and junk food are magical, but they usually lack romance. Imagine simply replacing the harsh light of the overhead lamp with the warm glow of candles, cooking a herbal-infused meal that is every bit as delicious as it is relaxing, or possibly giving your special somebody a massage that might do wonders for your relationship and ignite that spark you’ve been missing. Now it may sound daunting to put that much time and effort into a date night in when the whole point of the evening is to relax anyway, right? Fret not, Your Hippie Butler is here to provide you with a few easy tips to incorporate during your next movie night that will enhance you and your honey’s time unwinding.
Create a Smokin’ AmbianceSetting the mood is everything when it comes to curating a special date night for your partner. Start by lighting a few candles to wash the room in a golden glow and set the senses aflame with any kind of vanilla, lavender, or another sweet scent. Sprinkling rose petals across the room sounds like a cheesy scene from one of the movies on your list tonight, but when done sparingly, can completely transform your home into a romantic retreat. Instead of covering the floor, focus the petals to a few key areas to keep it subtle, such as framing the candles on your coffee table, near the centerpiece of the dining table (If you don’t have a centerpiece, consider converting your water pipe to a vase for the night to keep things cheeky). Depending on where you want the night to end up, you might consider spreading a few petals on your bedside table or along the corners of your bathtub. Creating a cozy environment is key when staging the scene for your legendary date night in. Stay cozy by throwing a couple of your softest blankets on the couch and maybe a few pillows, where space permits.
Cook an Herbally Infused MealNothing says “I love you” like a home cooked meal, and nothing screams it better than when it’s infused with your favorite legal herbs. Cooking infused recipes can be a little intimidating if you’ve never tried it before, but don’t worry, Your Hippie Butler is here to help you cook dinner and dessert without a headache. So what’s the secret? We’re only working with one infused ingredient and that’s your own herb-infused butter. That is the building block to both of our recipes, so you’re not spending the day making all kinds of infused vegetable oils, coconut oil, etc. (though we certainly encourage you to try out any of these! Perhaps another date idea, but we’re getting ahead of ourselves.)
Parmesan and Garlic PastaA tried and true recipe that will likely become an instant classic in your household.
- 1 package of angel hair pasta
- 4 tablespoons of infused butter
- 3/4 cup of Parmesan cheese
- 7 chopped garlic cloves
- Begin by melting some of your herb infused butter and add your garlic.
- Continue cooking over medium heat until you see it take on a nice golden brown color and set aside to simmer.
- Get your pot of water to a boil and add your pasta. You’ll only be waiting until the noodles are soft, then you’ll drain until you only have about a ½ cup of water left.
- Combine the butter and garlic, stirring the contents to ensure each noodle is covered in that buttery goodness.
- Add some parmesan, the more the better, until it tastes just right for you two.
Extra Special BrowniesAn old standby and the perfect classic to pair with any movie night.
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup of cocoa powder
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons of water
- 8 tablespoons of infused butter
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Grease your pan (No, you don’t have to waste your precious infused butter on this part, pam or just a regular old stick of butter will do the trick).
- Mix the sugar, cocoa, a pinch of salt, vanilla extract, water, and of course, your infused butter.
- Slowly add one egg at a time, making sure to whisk thoroughly to avoid clumps and get that sweet, glossy consistency.
- Add the flour and continue mixing for another two to three minutes, or until smooth.
- Pour mixture in pan and place in oven.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes.
Pamper Your Smoking Hot SweetieNow that dinner is made and it’s time to relax, why don’t we add a bit of pampering to the mix? Run a bath and bubbles or add essential oils like lavender, bergamot, or jasmine to the water and add an extra element of relaxation. After the bath, see if your partner is up for something a little more sensual like a back or foot massage. Your partner works hard and you do too, so why not treat them to a relaxing hands-on experience? Take your time to enjoy this healing and bonding activity and knead away all of the knots and tension in their back with massage oil. It doesn’t have to be just your run of the mill massage oil either; to really kick up the heat, get a massage candle that doubles as a massage oil (typically massage candles burn at 80 degrees, so you don’t have to worry about any burns). If you’re looking for a natural option, try out an herbally infused oil. Your partner will be comforted by the relaxing smell and feel of the warm oil. Bonus points if you put your partner’s favorite movie on in the background. Make sure you do a good job, so they’ll want to return the favor.
ConclusionThere you have it! You have a complete playbook of how to sweep your partner off their feet and onto the couch for an incredible night in. Now, our Butler knows that romance isn’t as easy as three steps, but by using these date night tips for smokers, you’ll be the hero of the night, much like the characters on your screen.
